Here and Now

I wanted to write about children today,  however let me begin by thanking you all readers for reading my little little life experiences and expressions. I have received such warm and kind words of encouragement from you all.  Also I m very grateful that you are also sharing the blog with your contacts and friends. A response like" Maam this has come to me just at the right time when I needed it most " encouraged me to request you to share with as many people as u can. We never know who will, somewhere,  in what staff mind, find some answer or solace. So keep sharing . This would be definitely a good valuable share . Now today's topic The Power of Now is a beautiful book by Eckhart Tolle , which I have with me since the last 15 years along with a small book called practicing the power of now. It has given me a good guideline to let the past go, let the future be,  however remain in the present . The here and now . It taught me to bring my awareness to what I wa...

R there Coincidences

I would like to begin with a note of gratitude to my readers who are sending me such warmand kind words of encouragement. Grateful to you all for reading, commenting and sharing my blog. Another week of many events, many blessings and each day bringing many miracles. Highlight from last Friday till Tuesday was meeting up with students whom I taught 28 years ago and though our association together was for just 7 months, it was like bonding with my children. Most of them are just a few years younger than me but the common factor is they all love me and even today have regards, love and respect. Some of them have preserved fondly the little gift I had made on the last day and I had written a message for each one of them. For one of the student I had written that you shall win the world with your smile and fly high. He went on to work with airlines and has indeed won everyone's heart. He has traveled far and wide and has made an impact on many lives. Our reunion happened as an...

On a lighter note

When all the hullabaloo is on regarding notes, I could note help adding my bit to it, not on the same topic but on a different experience I had a couple of days back. Yes I have about ten 500r notes and 1 of 1000, besides that I have no tension . But some more 500r notes came to me from our watchman who had borrowed a sum of 5k about a year ago saying he wanted some money to build his house in his village . I gave him the money and made a mental note to not take it back when and if he returns the amount .  As I am aware of their measly salaries and how they earn some extra bucks by washing vehicles. Also he has been in the society since forever . He has become old here.  So I was happy I could contribute . Some known people informed that he had borrowed from many people , which I felt was very smart as asking one person for 50k would surely have got a response of "no". I was happy he had used his intelligence . However the watchman kept reminding me that he would ret...

Life is Indeed Beautiful

Being a counselor , I get many cases where people come and talk about many things which are missing in their lives or what is troubling them. One major and deep part missing for most people is love, care affection either from the spouse, children or the near and dear ones. And in most cases the people who feel something is missing because of others actually do not love themselves . Cause when you love yourself, then you start giving love to everyone and everything around you, you fall in love, u see love everywhere and u receive love when u become love. One must keep some clippings of the movie life is beautiful to appreciate and understand love. Love for life, love for family, love for everything  and everyone. The readers might find my statement ," I don't watch TV" contradictory when I give examples of movies everytime . However the universe is suddenly conspiring for me to watch some great movies . So life is beautiful is about a Jewish father who spins a beautif...

Moral of the story

Friday happened to be a hectic day for me as despite waking up with a migraine , I decided to continue with my days work.  A couple of painkillers and some extra rest put me on my feet in the afternoon when I met a parent who had come all the way from goregaon to consult me for her gifted child age 5. It was a pleasure to revive the memories of the gifted children program and as if the universe was telling me that revive the gifted child program once again. I had a wonderful time with her and felt as if I was seeing myself 25 years ago. So with a happy mindset I set out to meet my class mate who had come from Israel and we were gonna meet after 38 years. There were other class mates as well who were gonna meet up at Marine Drive. Marine Drive as a meeting place itself is very therapeutic . The sea breeze has medicinal effect, the people walking their pets add to the happiness and the latest is everyone trying to capture happy moments in their selfies . I called for an Uber, ...

Growing up overnight

I watch TV very rarely. Last evening I got an opportunity to watch a movie called The Impossible . It is a very good depiction of the horrors of Tsunami . A family of five had set off on a holiday to a beautiful place called Kalapao in Thailand . Golden clean beach and beautiful serene sea. It is a true story of how this family experienced the horrors of near death, excruciating pain, separation and how they survived the entire ordeal. The main hero of this movie was the young boy Lucas who was I guess 11. However the way he gathered all his guts, strength and saved his mother was remarkable and astonishing as well.  There were many teachings one can find,  but my mind was on how Lucas grew overnight into a responsible , caring, compassionate , introspective , matured person who not only saved his mother,  but on his mother's instructions also went on to help others find their near and dear ones. He was a boy who could not tolerate his younger brothers fear responses...

Combatting violence

Since a couple of days, rather since I watched the movie The Accountant,   I m having difficulty when I close my eyes.  I see violent images and then I try the power of shifting thoughts to positive events which I want in my life to happen. The afternoon short naps are very dear to me and though I gave the opportunity,  I have been unable to catch those 20 winks. Violence has always bothered me like it does to most of the population and since a couple of years I have been avoiding watching it on television and have stopped reading newspapers . I am hopeful that most of us will take to mediation and create a generation which does not resort to violence for little or big things. However deep down I am also aware that this is not possible as our DNA system is designed to survive and the fight and flight is the basis of this computer programming called humans. If u ponder on the title of today's topic, it is as contradictory as my anti violent dreams. While I would not...
