Corporate Readiness
Dear Friends,
We all are aware that the mention of the word Corporate Readiness brings in big terms like Six Sigma, Insight Behavioural Science, Web Technologies etc. However the hard fact is that every fourth student who completes his education is not employable and has difficulty to say his name clearly. There are organisations who prepare students for Resume Writing, Interview skills and Group Discussion while 85% of the students lack comprehension skills. What is ailing the education system which has disturbed the ratio of the company budget that appears heavier for training rather than for compensation.
If Schools and Colleges were to ensure that students are well groomed, equippped with excellent communication skills both written and verbal, then the companies would not have to spend on training as much as they do now. The companies could definitely offer a higher package to all the employees. Corporate houses could concentrate then on building the negotaition skills and explore the potentials of the executives in the following areas:
Strategy to Increase Sales
Strategy to Lower Costs
Strategy to Enhance Customer Satisfaction
Today the organisations invest a huge amount in training at the entry level and always at a risk of losing that candidate for a meagre raise of few thousands and some perks.
I feel it is the responsibility of the educational instutes to ensure that the corporate have an employable candidate right from day one of his job.
The candidate must have the training in the following before he or she goes for an interview which means at the educatinal institute level.

- Communication skills which besides soft skills woud cover written communication
- Soft Skills
- Project Management
- Team Building exercises
- Time Management
- Self Introspection
- Social Responsiblity Activities
- Etiquette and Grooming
- International Travel
The above list might be overwhelming for the educational institutes however it would make a big difference even if half of this would be covered by the educational institutes and the candidates would be ready at entry level itself.
It is only then that the organisations can offer higher compensations and impart training of higher level. The learning quotient is high and the company could build resources inhouse as well thus ensuring job satisfaction.
