Be a Solution Parent and not a Problem Parent

The word examination creates a kind of anxiety not only for students but more so for parents. Here are some simple tips which could help you to be a support to your children.
Effective Tips for parents to become a part of the solution and not part of the problem.
Become a strong support system, for children during examination.
1. Try and maintain a positive environment around the house with soft music, Gayatri Mantra, shloka’s etc. It has been proved that playing Mozart helps improve concentration. Richard Clayderman and Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia also would be a good choice. The music could be played in the background even when the children are studying.
2. It would be wise to talk in a positive tone to children while reminding them of their studies and avoid any kind of sarcasm or negative consequences.
3. Comparison is very damaging and this is definitely not the time to remind them how well their siblings or cousins are doing or how the entire family has had great performers.
4. Encourage the children to take appropriate breaks in between their studies and a short visit outdoor would be an excellent stress buster. The visit could be to the club, a friend, garden, sea side, etc.
5. Ensure that you do not nag the children to eat too much or drink milk as a compensatory meal. Soups, and small snacks consisting of combination of vegetables would be recommended. Home made Bhel, noodles, soups, sprout bhel, fruit salads, juices, sandwiches with brown and bran bread are filling and healthy.
6. Massage few drops of almond oil at night into the scalp and repeat the positive statements mentioned below in your mind:
· You are Calm, Peaceful, Loving Intelligent person
· You have Good Memory and Concentration Power
· You are Confident and Happy Person
· You enjoy studying all the subjects.
· You can recall all that you have learnt in written and oral form.
· You are active and responsible person
· You excel in all that you do
Repeat the above statements at least 5-10 times in your mind as if you are transferring them to the mind of your child.
Above all be encouraging loving and supportive to your children and they will definitely excel.
